County forest law database--ledgers and maintenance data [electronic resource], 1929-[ongoing]

Electronic records for the County Forest Law program (CFL). This database includes the following: ledgers for CFL loans; ledgers and data on severance tax billings to and payments from counties; acreage entered into the CFL program; and timber sale volumes, value, number of sales, cut acres, and species information for individual county forests. The Oracle database is updated regularly. The data is used to track counties that are subject to severance tax as stipulated under s 28.11(9) Wisconsin Statutes and whether they have been billed and have paid the tax. Acreage listings are maintained in order to allocate money under the variable acreage share loan and wildlife habitat grant programs, and so that the DNR can make aid payments to towns and counties.
